One concept from the reading that I found interesting was in Chapter 3 where the book went over the “Characteristics of Listening”. I really liked how the book broke up the task of listening to a speech into 7 aspects. I thought that it was pretty interesting to read about the aspects that make up listening that we practice without even knowing it. The most enjoyable characteristic of listening to read about was it being thought of as a dynamic process. I thought it was pretty neat to read about how it is a good thing to be tired after listening to speeches because that means I’m listening to the speeches correctly!

Hi I hat listening to speeches or even reading books that I'm not necessarily interested in. It can get a little boring...but hey its the process...I guess...That is pretty funny how you know your listening to a speech correctly when you get tired. I never knew that was possible. But I question that...what do you do if you accidentally fall asleep while someone is doing their speech? That means that whatever is being said while your sleeping isnt sinking into your head...it kind of makes no sense to me.
Heyyy....
I think this is pretty interesting too! I just had a lecture on this the other day in my sales management course, my professor was actually trying to emphasize the point of listening and how there is actually a certain way to listen. I didn't really understand this at first, but since I seen this concept also in our book it finally clicked in my head! :)
Speeches tend to be really boring to listen to, especially when you've heard 50 of them! But I guess that's how you know you're a good listener by being tired lol :) That sounds funny and it doesn't really make any sense to me either.
